Is the Hyundai Warranty Transferable?

The new vehicle limited warranty under the Hyundai Owner Assurance suite, more often referred to by the automaker as “America’s Best Warranty” provides an unparalleled level of peace-of-mind for Henderson and North Las Vegas drivers. But is it transferable from one owner to the next? The answer, in fact, is “Yes!” If a Hyundai vehicle with America’s Best Warranty is sold within the coverage period of its 10-Year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty coverage, the subsequent owner will receive the majority of the same protections for up to 5-years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Except where noted below, all aspects of “America’s Best Warranty” coverage apply to the Hyundai warranty transfer that the new owner receives. Here’s what you get from Hyundai Assurance if you buy the vehicle second-hand:

• 8-Year/80,000-Mile Federal Emission Defect and Performance Warranty
• 7-Year/70,000-Mile California Emission Control Systems Warranty
• 7-year/Unlimited-Mile Anti-Perforation Warranty
• 5-Year/60,000-Mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty
• 5-Year/Unlimited-Mile 24-Hour Roadside Assistance
• 12-Month/12,000-Mile Replacement Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty

Note: The 10-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and Lifetime Hybrid Battery Warranty apply to the Original Owner Only.

What’s Not Covered Under the Hyundai Warranty?

The following are not covered by either the original warranty coverage or Hyundai warranty transfer coverage:

• Normal wear and tear
• Any vehicle declared a total loss
• Negligence or damage caused by accidents
• Routine maintenance (oil changes, cleaning, polishing, etc.)
• Routine maintenance items (wiper blades, brake pads, etc.) after the 12-month/12,000-mile term has expired
